National Change of Address
As a division of Australia Post, eLetter Solutions can assist you in maintaining an up-to-date database through the use of the National Change of Address (NCOA) service.
Change of address data is collected through Redirection of Mail notices lodged at more than 4,000 outlets across Australia. Customers indicate whether they want Australia Post to act as an agent to pass on their new address details in line with privacy legislation. The NCOA service is the database of all these redirection notices. In washing your data against this list, we can provide you with an updated database and report outlining the match rate and changes that have occurred, enabling you to keep track of customers on the move.
With approximately 17%, or more than three million Australians changing address every year, we can keep your data as up-to-date as possible while reducing the amount of return to sender mail. This in turn saves money and increases the number of customers you can reach, improving your response rates. Throughout this process the confidentiality of your customer database is assured.

Saving time and money
The process begins with the database listing, which can be either supplied by you or sourced from Australia Post's bank of consumer lists. All files, with or without Delivery Point Identifiers, are automatically matched against the latest version of the Postal Address File. If a valid Delivery Point Identifier is missing, the system appends it to the appropriate record.
Through expertly handling the detailed process of address validation, appending Delivery Point Identifiers, barcoding and presorting mail, we are able to:

- ensure a more accurate sort of the mail for efficient delivery to its destination

Automating return to sender mail
Handling return to sender mail can be a laborious task requiring time to track changes, up date your database and resend the mail. We can take care of this process for you, ensuring your return to sender mail is always given priority and actioned promptly.
Australia Post provides the functionality for companies to insert relevant business information within the address barcode printed on a mail item. This extra information within the address barcode facilitates speedy return to sender mail processing, offering you greater efficiency and cost effectiveness.
We can scan any return to sender mail and wash this data against the Australia Post National Change of Address file, providing you with an updated database and a report outlining the changes. For non-barcoded return to sender mail we are able to enter the data manually and then destroy the mail packs if required.
